The building is located in Istanbul Province, Beyoğlu District, Kuloğlu Neighborhood, map section 25, block 476, parcel 16. The parcel is surrounded by Erol Dernek Street (formerly called Alyon Street), Yeni Ahududu Street (formerly called Bursa Street) and Koca Ağa Street.
Although the actual date of construction is not known, it has the features of Levantine apartments built at the end of the 19th century. It is evident from map section number 95 in the “Cadastra de la Ville de Constantinople” maps prepared in 1876 during the reign of Sultan Abdulaziz that the building had not been built yet and that there was a garden located there.
A London company owned by Charles Edward Goad was hired to draw up maps from 1904 to 1906, which include map number 39 for the Pera district dated December 1905, indicating that the building had been constructed by that date.
